Continuing… Excelsior’s Bookshelf!

Apr 25, 2025

Excelsior’s writing club, the “Inklings of Excelsior,” is excited to present their second annual literary magazine, Excelsior’s Bookshelf!

Members of the club have worked diligently to showcase creative student writing again this year. Club members submitted their own work and solicited submissions from students outside the club as well. Once all submissions were received, club members used a blind judging process to choose the works that would be included in the magazine. Then they volunteered as editors and designers. The Inklings of Excelsior hope you enjoy this year’s edition!

All works published in the magazine—including short stories, poetry, essays, six-word memoirs, illustrations, and book reviews—are original works by students of Excelsior Classes. Students retain full rights to their work, which may not be reproduced without their permission. Contact club advisor dawnburnette@excelsiorclasses.com with questions.

While the club’s goal is to share quality, family-friendly, God-honoring writing, some themes might not be appropriate for all ages. Parents should, of course, determine what is appropriate for their own families.

The writing club provides members with a supportive writing community. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to write, share work, learn new techniques, play games, hear from professional authors, and build friendships. Students who are interested in joining the writing club for the 2025-26 school year can learn more HERE.
