Elise Fair is a lover of language and story who is blessed to be able to teach and learn from young people. Originally from Ohio, she has an English and French degree with teaching certification from Harding University, located in Arkansas. She taught both English and French at a Texas public high school for five years, and during that time, she was also a club sponsor and team leader. Elise led international student trips to France and Spain, provided professional development for other teachers, and served as a campus instructional coach (helping teachers in various disciplines grow and improve).Teaching multiple grade levels has given her experience with students of widely varying skill levels, and being a teacher of both English and French gives her deeper insight into the nature and structure of language.
In 2019, Elise and her husband celebrated the birth of their son, and she became a stay-at-home mom and part-time English tutor for struggling writers. She loves traveling, cooking for her family, fellowshipping with her church family, and writing poetry and reflective pieces for her blog. One of the greatest blessings of being a new mom has been sharing books with her son, as she has always treasured reading as a doorway to adventure and to a better understanding of others’ perspectives.
As a member of her church community, Elise has enjoyed mentoring and chaperoning the youth group, teaching children’s Bible classes from age three up to sixth grade, and speaking at Girls Conferences hosted by her congregation. She and her husband love God and are so grateful for the grace and mercy He has shown them through Jesus Christ.
