Ancient Literature – Ind. Study
Let’s start with the beginnings of western tradition studying works of Greece and/or Rome. You’ll be able to select from epic poetry, lyric poetry, or dramas. This isn’t going to be boring! It’s going to be fun, exciting, and thought-provoking. We are able to develop a plan that incorporates history, philosophy, political science, mythology and culture if that suits you too. Pieces to be read will need to be approved by the instructor before the semester begins, and guidance in selection can be given if needed. Students should know how to write a standard 5 paragraph essay in MLA format as at least 2 papers will be required. If a student has advanced writing ability, research papers or longer papers can be incorporated. Students will meet with the instructor before a paper is started.
