Foreign Language Sampler
Bonjour! Hola! Guten Tag! Join Excelsior’s celebrated foreign language staff of native and near-native speakers for a semester of three languages! Basic German, Spanish, French, and artistic contributions of each target language will be taught (in that order) by stellar instructors in increments of four weeks with a short, written test at the end of each language. Students will learn the alphabet, a Bible verse, numbers, colors, basic greetings/expressions and something unique to each target language. Instruction includes interesting bits of culture, with music and videos adding to the fun! Each student chooses a name in the target language for use in class. Each language will also have a week of artistic exploration taught by Excelsior art and art history instructor, Julie Rohr! This course will help younger students decide which language they will study. A microphone headset is required as students will speak in each class. Come aboard on this international adventure!
