COURSE CONTENT INFORMATION
This course will be ready for student placement on 08/01/2026.
Come along as we explore the United States system of government from its inception to present. In this Foundations of Government (Non-Honors) course we will focus on primary sources and writings concerning the original intent of the Founding Fathers as we examine the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Concepts of federalism, separation of powers, limitations of power, taxation and spending, and domestic and international relations will be analyzed utilizing a Christian worldview.
Foundations of Government (Non-Honors) is a one-semester, high-school level course designed to equip students with the knowledge they need to become responsible, knowledgeable citizens.
SELF-PACED INFORMATION
Our self-paced courses allow students to complete coursework on their own schedule within our learning management system. Each student receives one full year of access, beginning on the date course access is granted.
Course access is provided only after tuition has been paid in full. Families who need to begin immediately (or within a few days) should plan to pay in full at the time of registration. Payment plans are designed for students who intend to start at a later date. Because access is not granted until the balance is fully paid, using a payment plan will delay the course start date.
Using a modular approach, this course is the equivalent of our regular live session course in terms of content, assessment, and feedback. It does not include a Yellowdig discussion platform due to the nature of a self-paced course. Included in your purchase is a block of two hours of live meeting time with the teacher. This may be used in 15 minute increments. Once past the two hours, parents may purchase additional time (if necessary) from the instructor.
At the end of the twelve month time period or upon earlier completion of the course, a Final Grade PDF will be provided of the grade. Should the student not complete the course, an audit or the grade at the final week of the course completed by the student will be sent.
Questions? Write to registration@excelsiorclasses.com.
SPECIAL NOTE: There are no refunds for any self-paced course once the purchase has been made. Students are provided with a full year of access from date of login generation and access. When purchasing the course, please indicate your preferred start date for the student in the order notes section at checkout.
